Best of Santo Antão in a Day

1- A Day Tour In The North Of  Santo Antão 

Sun is what the islands are blessed with, and you will start your island tour at the harbour with the driver and guide waiting for you in Porto Novo, the desert side with arid climate.

Driving by the old road to the forest  that's located at 1000 meters elevation where you head to Pico Da Cruz and do a little hike to have a 360° degree view over the island.

After Pico da Cruz you will be driving through Cova Crater where you'll have some foto stop of the crater and have a coffee, than continue passing by Delgadinho, the  narrowest road where you have awesome views from above of two different valleys.

You will follow this road to Ponta do sol, the historical town where you visit the  City Hall of Ribeira grande, contemplate a moment at the harbour with the fishermen bringing fresh fish and visit Papaza where they make the traditional boats.

Then drive to Paul valley, the greenest valley of Cape Verde Islands with most water flow and varied plantations. If you wish you do another hike of 1:30 minutes, in the midst of various crops, sugar cane, loquats, orange, coffee plants.

Soon after having lunch and tasting the aromatic coffee you will visit the distillery where you can get to know the process of making Grogue, and sure a taste of the various licors.

You will finish your program at the harbour or at the accommodation in case you're staying on the island.
